Last night, Alejandro Fenández, one of Mexico's most iconic artists, kicked off his AMOR y PATRIA 2023 U.S. tour. The sold-out event in Sacramento, CA, marked the beginning of Fiestas Patrias, the cultural celebration for Latinos in the U.S., and reinforced Fernandez's family musical legacy and love for his native Mexico. Alejandro moved fans with a brand-new show and production that featured traditional Mexican music sounds, classics fans love, and his new music.
The multigenerational celebration included special guest Alex Fernández, Alejandro's son, who joined on stage for an intimate performance of Alejandro's late father Vicente Fernández’s song "Mujeres divinas." Fans sang their hearts out with Alejandro during the 2- hour performance of mega-hits like "Te Olvidé," "Abrázame," “Felicidades,” and "Como Quien Pierde una Estrella" along with recent releases including "Inexperto En Olvidarte" and "No Es Que Me Quiera Ir."
Produced by Live Nation, the tour continues tonight with a performance in San Jose, CA at SAP Center then across North America with shows in Los Angeles, Houston, Chicago, New York, Las Vegas, his first ever performance in Toronto and more, with a final stop in Dallas on Saturday, October 28.
Additionally, the tour features a number of charity initiatives close to Fernández's heart. Across all shows, a portion of the tour’s proceeds will support Friends of the National Museum of the American Latino. For the last twenty years, the organization has fought to bring the previous 500 years of U.S. Latino history to light by creating a National Museum of the American Latino on the National Mall in Washington, D.C.

In support of asylum seekers in New York, Fernández recently announced he will donate a portion of the proceeds from his upcoming New York City-area appearance to the New York Immigration Coalition. Live Nation will match Fernández's donation when he performs at The Theater at Madison Square Garden on October 14, 2023. New York has seen the arrival of over a 100,000 asylum seekers and migrants in search of safety and opportunity in 2023. While some have been able to start their lives in their new city, many more are struggling with housing shelter challenges that include inadequate facilities or food, and the difficulties of working. The New York Immigration Coalition has been chosen as the recipient of these funds given their long-standing role advocating on behalf of immigrant New Yorkers and their response efforts to help welcome these families with dignity.

ABOUT ALEJANDRO FERNÁNDEZ
ALEJANDRO FERNÁNDEZ rose to global fame with his unique take on Mexican music. He is known for his records that speak of hard emotional truths. Alejandro has a long history of helping others through his music and shows. In 2020, he launched (along with a coalition of artists) the "Vota Por Nosotros" (Vote For Us) get-out-the-vote campaign, encouraging Latino voters to vote on behalf of our entire community in the November 3rd elections. In accepting his Latin GRAMMY that same year, Alejandro dedicated the award to the victims of the recent hurricanes in southern Mexico donating MXN $1,000,000.00 to the Mexican Red Cross to aid with the relief efforts.
In 2020 Alejandro joined Mana’s Fher Olvera as the face of the “We Are Home” campaign calling for a fair and dignified immigration policy for the millions of Latino immigrants living in the US and again with Dr. Anthony Fauci in a call for the US Latino population to get vaccinated against the COVID-19 virus.
